Generation Of Love
I can remember when I was young
So many years ago
I use to play dress ups
And put on a fashion show.
Vintage clothes from that old trunk
I use to rummage through
Such beautiful things I thought back then
You would think so too.
Generations have gone by
Times have changed so much
It seems our days don't seem to have
That very special touch.
Back then we were contented
To enjoy the smallest things
Like paper dolls and marbles
The closeness a family brings
Never in a hurry
No one strayed from home
Never complained when times were rough
Life had a simple tone.
Our children may never know
Of those wonderful days
Yet God has a way of showing them
As he works in mysterious ways.
Life wasn't meant to be perfect
We all must find our way
But God will help each one of us
All we have to do is pray.
