Sure wish it was
like it use to be
When we had time to do
All the work around the house
And time to visit too.
Easy to understand the words
To the music they would sing
And never made a lot of plans
Being home contentment would bring.
The doctor was always available
Appointments we never had
No high fluting grocery stores
Dirt roads were not that bad.
Worked hard for our money
Car's a luxury for the poor
Medicine was mixed at the Drug Store
Milk delivered at the door.
Not a lot of cash to spend
Yet one thing I have to say
We always had time for God and family
Sure would like to go back to that day.
