I user to go to
Grandma's house
Overnight I would stay
My best friend lived
across the street
There we would romp and
play.

Dressing up in
old lace curtains
Climbing trees and
having fun
Playing in a field of
daisy's
Underneath a beautiful
sun.

Going to school together
Playing dolls was a
special thing
Your friendship meant so
much to me
Your sweet family made my heart sing.

And when you moved we
kept in touch
A bond we shared
together
Always remembering days
gone by
Memories stay with us
forever.

Some children never
really know
How special a friendship
can be
And that is sad when you
think about it
So precious mine is to
me.

Many years have passed
us by
Yet one thing I'd like
to say
I'm so glad we still
keep in touch
Even though not every
day.

So let me say thank you
so very much
For the friendship we
will always know
Each day you live within
my heart
No matter where you may
go.
