"Do you know what
day it is?"
Hubby remarked, "No
what is today?"
"Well! If you can't
remember
I'm certainly not
going to say."
"Well! Aren't
you gonna ask me?"
I asked shedding a
few tears
"OK," he said "so
you're fifty"
"You've been
thirty-two for
several years".
I didn't want to
hear that
Just wanted some
birthday wishes
A gourmet dinner a bottle of wine
And someone to do
the dishes.
I don't have a lot
of get up and go
Like when I was
twenty-one
The elasticity has
left my vital parts
You might say my
spring has sprung.
I looked at myself
in the mirror
Guess I'm really not
that nifty
But I'm not over the
hill just yet
They say life begins
at fifty???
I'm recharging my
batteries
Getting rid of my
grey hair
Just bought new
under wire bras
So now I've got a
pair.
Every day I hit the
gym you see
Wearing all the
right gear
Leotards and the
other stuff
Looking ridiculous I
do fear.
I'm trying to keep
nice and fit
Age is a state of
mind too
Don't ask me what
state I'm in
I'll just say I'm
"Thirty Two."
