For My Dearest Mother

It didn't seem so long ago

When you were here with me

I never knew until apart

How lonesome it would be.

How I long to feel the touch

Of your sweet lips on my cheek

Contented doing things you loved

Each time I'd take a peek.

Your precious voice and tender touch

Scent of roses in the air

The fragrance that you likes best

When sick your tender care.

Your room so full of daily love

A collection of many things

Back then I really never thought

The joy those memories now bring.

Love and friendship that we shared

The things we did together

Never realizing they would be missed

Until they were gone forever.

Mama many years have passed

Since the angels took you away

And now you live in Heaven

I miss you more and more each day.

You are always with me Mama

Each day in all I do

Please wait for me dearest Mama

Some day soon I'll be with you.
