They are angels of mercy

Rejoice them one and all

Always ready and waiting

To answer each and every call.

No matter the time or the place

Be it day time or darkest of night

They are always by our side

Comforting our every plight.

Close your eyes and feel their gentle touch

Full of love and deepest caring

The long hours of work not withstanding

So much love they are always sharing.

They are with you to see you through

When the suffering and need is there

Trying to ease our discomforts

And the pain we sometimes must bear.

As they go about their duties

Long, grueling hours on their feet

Yet a loving smile upon their face

Each and every time we meet.

A nurse is truly God's angel

A hero from up above

Sent to help each one of us

With compassion and with love.
