When I see a rainbow
Way up in the sky
I think of you my dearest friend
As the clouds go passing by.

I scan the heavens far and wide
The beauty up above
And know God give this to us
To cherish like our love.

He gives us so many things
The sunshine and the rain
When he gave me you my friend
He removed all my pain.

The pain of needing someone
To befriend me in return
He took away my lonely heart
And all of my concern.

So when you see a rainbow
Always think of me
The friendship that I feel for you
For all eternity.
