The moon has
a face like the clock on the wall
That shines on the world, one and all
On fields, oceans and lands far away
Just biding time for the light of day.
The creatures that prey in the darkness of night
Can find their way by the bright moonlight
I sit by the window and watch each star
Thinking of those I love, near and far.
Each of the things that belong to the day
Snuggle down to be out of her way
And all God's children close their eyes
Until the morning when the sun will rise.
