When we lose someone we love

A loss too great to bear

God sends us friends to comfort us

To show they deeply care.

In the dark hours of the night

When no one is around

It's when we feel the loneliest

And where God's love is found.

Like a soothing, healing balm

That console's our broken heart

Yet so much pain still lingers

Ripping it all apart.

Just rest secure in God's love

Knowing He is by our side

He holds us close when feeling as though

A part of us has died.

I know that God will listen

When words we need to say

And when we feel we need to cry

Know he is with us night and day.

He is always waiting by our side

With arms open wide

As we pour out all our hurt

He is standing by our side.

The Lord loves us so very much

He will never leave us alone

And never forsake us in our need

To face the loss on our own.

He comforts us and strengthens us

Anoints us with Heavenly balms

And as the dawn breaks through the sky

We will awake in His loving arms.
