Don't Look Back
As you journey through your life
When decisions you must make
Where choices are hard and solutions are rare
And the burdens seem too much to take.
The time seems to come when you're down and out
And regardless you must move on
Trying to choose the right direction
That carries you toward a new dawn.
So pack up your troubles and look ahead
No doubt the change will be tough
But think about a better future
If you can be stalwart enough.
A future you may never imagine
Just waiting around the very next bend
Wishes and dreams about to come true
In ways you can't yet comprehend.
Maybe you'll find new friendships
As you challenge the status quo
And learn there are so many options in life
Many ways you can help yourself grow.
Perhaps you'll go places never dreamed of
See things that you've never seen
Or travel to beautiful faraway places
And meet wonderful people in between.
You may find warmth and affection
And someone special out there
To help you stay centered and listen
To the stories and feelings you share.
Hopefully you'll find comfort in knowing
You'll be supported in all that you do
And believe that whatever decisions you make
Will be the right choices just for you.
So keep putting one foot in front of the other
And take your life day by day
There's a brighter tomorrow just down the road
Don't look back, you're not going that way.
